Course Repeat Guidelines for Students Admitted in 2013 and thereafter
1. Repeated Courses and Grading Policy
A. If a student enrolls in a course two or more times, only the final credit and grade received on the most recent course repeat will be considered for fulfilling the graduation requirements. The policy remains in effect even if a student receives the final grade of 멑� in a repeated course.
B. Previously received academic warning will remain in effect even if a student뭩 GPA improves by repeating a course.
2. Regulations/Methods of Course Repeat for Students Admitted from 2013
A. Maximum number of course repeats regardless of previous grades: 3 times
- If students repeat a course with a grade other than F / NP, students will be automatically using one of the opportunities to repeat courses
B. Highest grade that can be received through course retake: A0 (4.0)
C. Declaring the Use of Course Repeat for 멑� and 멞P� grade courses:
1) If the previous grade is 멑� or 멞P�, the default is set as 멶o not use the course repeat opportunity� on the Yonsei Portal System.
2) Students who wish to repeat a course must change the default option 멶o not use the course repeat opportunity� in the course registration record to �change the course as a repeated course� during the course add/drop period.
3) If a student chooses to repeat a 'F' or 'NP' grade course, he/she will be also using one of three course repeat opportunities.
4) If a student cannot graduate due to a failing grade (receiving F) in a required course, he/she can repeat the course, even if he/she exceeds the total of 3 opportunities of course repeats. However, the initial grade of F will also be reflected in GPA.
5) The use of course repeat cannot be changed after the course add/drop period.
D. Courses that cannot be repeated:
1) Chapel, Volunteer Services, Holistic Education I, Freshmen Seminar, and Junior Seminar cannot be repeated.
2) While enrolled in school, students may register in a Volunteer Services course / Holistic Education I up to 4 times (4 credits). However, if a student receives a grade of 멞P,� they cannot enroll in a Volunteer Services course / Holistic Education I afterwards.
3) Students who require Holistic Education I as their graduation requirements and received 멞P� in their registered HE I course may submit <HE I registration application form> in request of approving course registration to the 멖E I Volunteer Services Course Support Center� (032 – 749 – 3039, 3040).
3. Course Repeat Registration Period for the 2013 Fall Semester
- 2013. 8. 19 (Mon): course registration day for all students
