Spring 2013 YIC RC Recruitment: Residential Assistant (RA) Program

The YIC Residential College (RC) is looking for caring, enthusiastic, and highly motivated students to work as Residential Assistants (RA) and Residential Hall Coordinators (RHC) during the Spring 2013 semester. Both RAs and RHCs live on-campus with first-year RC students. RAs act as peer counselors, community builders, event programmers, academic mentors, and administrators, and spend a significant amount of time getting to know students as individuals and generating enthusiasm to create floor, house, and campus communities. RHCs work to foster self-discipline and are responsible for encouraging a positive communal atmosphere within the residence halls. RAs and RHCs are expected to be strong team players as staff members of the RC and work closely with the Faculties-in-Residence.

? Eligibility:

-          Undergraduate (2-4) & Graduate Students;

-          Students with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 (out of 4.5) and above;

-          Able to live on-campus from Monday through Friday.

? Tasks & Responsibilities:

-          RAs

n  must advise, administer, and assist in the holistic development of all RC students;

n  must facilitate a sense of community within the residence and foster an appreciation for diversity;

n  must help plan and support all Residential College programs, events, and operations;

n  RAs must assist all Faculties-in-Residence (Residential Masters and Fellows);

n  must assist with RC Orientation and move-in/move-out operations;

-          RHCs

n  must tend to the health and welfare of all RC students;

n  must foster and monitor discipline and community living among RC students;

n  must aid with RC student emergency situations (day & night).

? Remunerations & Benefits

-          stipend of KRW 2,500,000-3,000,000 per semester;*

-          room worth KRW 800,000 per semester;

-          granted 50 points leadership mileage per semester

-          free shuttle buses between the Songdo International and Sinchon campuses;
